Readers Searching Means for Genealogy and Family History

Sometimes I have to just sit, naturally I grab the laptop,  and 'google browse'  a few names. It's good  for me and I have to admit it takes a lot of your time to be successful. Each time I do so;  I  mentally recall that I found Dorothea Luhmann that way, although I was searching the graves and used various versions of the Luhmann name.= Lumann. It keeps me going page after page.. But there are better ways to search  genealogy I realize now..

Your probably already acquainted about how to do good google searches. I admit I only know the basic. I know those supplied by ancestry for your object of pursuit or guy are quick and rather unsatisfying.   Yah, that's a dig. Anyway, I am getting to the idea of  social media tools. It was evident as I looked at my audience to  see one used on this blog.  An example is # 6.

My audiences for one day:

1- Google search. A search example was used with 'Von Sporcken' and maybe 'Horndorf '= http://suche.gmx.net/web? powered by google. I can't help wonder who was using that to search Joachim Friedrich VON LüNEBURG spörcken . I have the surname And dealing with german history, I do have the names 'von spoercken'  through out the weblog because they were noble landowners back in the day of early history. (geshichte.) [I'm going to enjoy reading what it turns up].

2- mywebsearch powerd by Google. It's  set up-- the surname Ahrens  and "family history" category in the search box. without the quotes.
[I put in the name "Meyer" added location California at the end,  so I  can  pursue that this evening with Oregon and Idaho added later on.]

3- Alta Vista was used to search "Kruskop Langenbrügge" I had that on my index of  F-L villages by Oldendorf and Nahrendorf. My information came from Aidaonline Niedersachen. Only six entries  with  that search entry.  Can you imagine with all my cookies how many pages there could have been  given for that, if I had googled it normally.

4- google.de/url brought my Rosseburg of Oldendorf page  to their attention.

5- http://isearch.avg.com/search  [secure search] Subject brought up " Häusling u. Pächter, Germany"

6- Dell's Social Media- Listening Dashboard. Thiswould be  a topic  worth a mini series in the making and worth it. I wonder who it was for;  what kind of commercial media was using it;  what tag was used;  and what page it brought forth.

7- http://search.seznam.cz/?q=albert+kersche&count=10&pId=8mJGf-YqwZ2pvjMoE2jy&from=11
It picked up the name Albert at my blog.  [Most of these  found are not tagged words.]  It provides pictures of the website. Pretty good with 28 entries.
.I changed the search. I entered the words  Seil and later added Blog and nothing that pertained to my blogs appeared  but i only clicked every other number. . However quotes around "Mike Coon"  Iowa; Gave me a little insight into his possible address..

8- Yahoo search engine brought me up through this query-
"Gesche Catharina KOOPMANN GENEALOGY"
It seems to be all genealogy based searches. Again it brought up my entry at F- L list of surnames of the villages of Niedersachen. also M-n-o-p-Q list.
Changing the  subject to "Neetzendorf and Genealogy"  without quotes and my weblogs  appeared.

Irregardless of SEO and Money advancement ad words;  I believe the traffic is due to the luck of the draw.
At the time of the search,   it's whomever is interested in the same surnames as I and  places as I am.
I am hopeful that sooner or later it will bring in the right descendant of an ancestor.Who will contact me and say were related or someone in the know about my family history.  In fact I still need to and should have already contacted Jim Zubel who said he had information about our Fred Meyer of Churdan Iowa. - I  put a couple of these blog posts shown  here on hold for my own reasons. they will be back soon.
- Keep in mind  that most of my readers lately have been spammers and those with websites that use others links to get them ahead in their game.
- I had to be careful because one searcher on my  another blog carried malware. Or at least I received a warning he was affiliated with another who had it.
- The day before  this post I had 600 viewers on my other blog.  That was a shocker. I have my hunch why,  but can't really say. It's probably the websites that feed the spammers info.

My blog - Genealogy of Oldendorf, und Nahrendorf Had Been Discovered by Genea Bloggers

I just found out why I had an increase in followers this month. It was because I was noticed as a new Genea blogger and mentioned at Genea Bloggers here Dec.4, 2010. I had made a small quick search to see why, with no outcome for a reason of the increase.
Now you and I both know why and we all can read some of the other noticed bloggers. Now I can visit their sites and post if I want. I suppose I will use the Genea Bloggers symbol at the side. I am not sure who suggested me, but whoever did so. Thank you. I appreciate the attention. Genea Bloggers website has a good source of a great many informational links, including how to do's. I hope you check that out as well.

My blog has been around for some time just as http://arootdigger.blogspot.com/ has been around blogosphere, just nearly not as long. In fact I should check and see which month I actually started it.

For my blog Genealogy of Oldendorf, und Nahrendorf it means there is more of a likelihood of the right person to find me, who just may know something about our family. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Genealogy - Familien namen Schoop, Fable Family History

Someone else with name Schoop in our Bleckede area and in Calhoun. It bears checking out their family history surnames and maybe more of ours. It doesseem everything goes to Harmstorf. It never hurts to keep our ears open.

Am searching for siblings of Johann Heinrich Herman SCHOOP b. May 22, 1869 in Harmstorf, Hannover, Germany, near Bleckede. He married Martha Alma Frieda KOCH in November 11, 1898 in Hamburg, Germany. They came to the USA in 1902 and settled in Lohrville, Calhoun County, Iowa. His father was Johann Heinrich SCHOOP b. in Germany and his wife was Katherina FABEL, b. Germany. They lived and died near Bleckede, Hannover, Germany area. Some records are in Dahlenburg Lutheran church. Need help on others in Johann and Katherina's family.

Harmstorf location does keep popping up for Schoop. I need to find her again. this was collected before I found so much on our Schoop family connections to Schenk/ Meyer/ Michels.

Genealogy Gold - and Family History about Grote, Naefke, Meyer Family Additions

Hello;

I Have more Family History info for you on the Grote family related to me by Mark Kuhlmann.

There are 2 more siblings of Adele Grote Naefke Meyer. Frank Grote - Born Nov 1893 in Farnhamville, Iowa - Died and buried there in 1954. Then the youngest Grote - Paul Grote - born Feb 1895 in Randolph, Arkansas. Paul Grote's Canadian Immagrtion Papers dated 24 Feb 1924 went to Red Deer, Canada. From there he went on to Alaska to find his brother Carl ( went to Canada not long after their moving to Arkansas). After communicating with my brother Marvin Kuhlman, Marvin told me while he was stationed in Alaska with the U.S. Army as a Dentist ( late 1940's ), he tried to find Paul Grote, since they were related,............. Marvin said Paul had a gold claim and ............ the search for Paul Grote has stopped there. If your interested, Emma Grote married Frank Daniel Wenck of Glidden, Iowa. I have a pic of my parents ( Elmer and Amanda Kuhlman ) with the Wenck's on their farm in Glidden, Iowa. I've probably forgotten to add somethig but if and or when I remember, I'll send you something.

That information above is the email letter received this last December from Mark Kuhlmann about Grote, Naefke, and Ahrens. So, I will make some necessary corrections in my previous post. I will add on his information to the little that I have written here. I know, I know, I need to get busy and add more from clippings and notes.

Remember - Adele Grote also married William Meyer.

If you relatives and readers have any questions I should post to him, let me know. I certainly take my time in thinking of question I should be asking. So I can use all the help I can get, as they say.

Psst. psst. - I watch the Gold rush show religiously on the Discovery channel. I have been wondering where abouts the gold claim in Alaska could be for Paul Grote. I'll have to see if anything is shown on the census.
