Der Staatsforst Göhrde ist das größte zusammenhängende Mischwaldgebiet Norddeutschlands. The State Forestry Göhrde is the largest mixed area in northern Germany. Er umfasst das gesamte gemeindefreie Gebiet Göhrde , Teile der Gemeinde Göhrde (beides Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg ) sowie Teile der Gemeinden Nahrendorf und Boitze ( Landkreis Lüneburg ).

It encompasses the entire community Göhrde free area, parts of the community Göhrde (both Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg) and parts of municipalities Nahrendorf and Boitze (Landkreis Lüneburg). Der Forst ist ein Teilbereich des Naturparks Elbufer-Drawehn und erstreckt sich auf einem durchschnittlich 80 Meter über NN (ca. 50 bis 110 m NN) befindlichen Hochplateau im Nordwesten des Drawehn . One of Herman Meyer's grandsons wed in Pochantas county, Iowa .

Herman Meyer senior is the gentleman lying on Hammock next to small child.

Grandson of Herman Meyer senior from Oldendorf wed in Iowa. Herman William Meyer 11 wed in Pochantas county, Iowa in December.
Pochantas county Iowa is near Greene and Calhoun county in Iowa where many settlers from Oldendorf lived. I thought it would be fantastic, if he was to live there as well. But he is not. He still lives in Minnesota. This is Herman Meyer 11 who married there.
Congratuions. Herman. He actually has had a nick name for many many years.

Note: For many years Herman senior was known as Herman Henry Meyer. I hesitate to address him by that name. Though those living would know who I was writing about. He was actually Heinrich Friedrich Herman Meyer. Born 1881 not 1883 like once thought.
The ships immigration passenger list has his name Herman spelled different. Which makes me wonder about spellings of the name. However Nahrendorf church records indicate Herman spelling as correct.
