If you examine the marriage record closely you find that his father is listed as Henry Meyers.

Though nearly all the records I have seen have him listed as Friedrich, grandfather had called him Henry. or Heinrich. Surprising then that the church records for Jurgen Friedrich Meyer [born 1814] did not say Jurgen Heinrich Friedrich Meyer. I had seen it that way in one case, so I figured it was so.

And if he said that for his marriage license, maybe his lost family in Usa also said that. I would say that is a good point to remember.

Now I wonder, why oh why did he call himself Meyers?
And further, why would he have the wrong age for himself?
